🌙 Allie’s Nighttime Routine for Deep Sleep & Happy Hormones
🌙 Allie’s Nighttime Routine for Deep Sleep & Happy Hormones
If there’s one thing I’ve learned through my healing journey, it’s that how you end your day sets the tone for how your body heals, rests, and rejuvenates overnight. I used to push through the evenings, working under bright lights and scrolling on my phone until my eyes burned. Now, my nights are sacred — a ritual of slowing down, resetting my nervous system, and giving my hormones the love they deserve.
Here’s what my nighttime routine looks like lately:
1. Blue Light Boundaries
As soon as the sun goes down, I slip on my blue light blocking glasses.
This simple step helps protect my circadian rhythm — your body’s internal clock that tells you when to wake and when to rest. Blue light from phones, TVs, and overhead lights tricks your brain into thinking it’s still daytime, suppressing melatonin (your sleep hormone). When you block that light, your body naturally prepares for rest and your hormones stay balanced.
2. Gentle Movement for the Nervous System
After a long day at Nourish, I crave grounding movement.
I’ll usually dim the lights, light a candle, and stretch — nothing intense.
Some of my favorites:
Legs up the wall to reduce swelling and calm the body after standing all day
Cat-Cow and Child’s Pose to release tension in the spine
Happy Baby Pose to open the hips and relax the pelvic area
These movements cue my body: you’re safe to rest now.
3. Book, Heat, and Liver Love
Once I crawl into bed, I reach for a good book (no screens here!).
I also layer on a castor oil pack over my liver — my favorite ritual for detox and hormone support — and place a heating pad on top for gentle warmth.
It’s like giving your liver a hug while helping your body process toxins overnight. My nervous system instantly drops into “rest and digest” mode.
4. Nervous System Support
Before I turn out the lights, I take my GABA plus L-Theanine.
This combo is my secret weapon against racing thoughts — helping me unwind, quiet my mind, and fall into deep, restorative sleep. Think of it as a natural chill pill that supports your neurotransmitters and cortisol levels.
5. Sleep Girl Mocktail or Dream Tea
To seal the night with something cozy and dreamy, I make my signature Sleep Girl Mocktail (or sometimes my Dream Tea if I’m craving warmth).
Here’s the recipe:
4 oz organic tart cherry juice (a natural source of melatonin and antioxidants)
1 tsp Anima Mundi Dream Elixir (for vivid, peaceful dreams)
A scoop of magnesium (to relax the muscles and nervous system)
Top with Dram Lavender Lemon Balm Sparkling Water
It’s calming, delicious, and the perfect nightcap to honor your hormones and your rest.
6. Skincare Ritual for Beauty Sleep
I’m a total skincare girlie, so this part of my night is non-negotiable.
I turn my Eminence Organic Skin Care routine into a little ritual so it feels like self-love — not a chore. Right now, I’m loving:
The Kombucha Microbiome Probiotic line for barrier support
The Ashwagandha & Shiitake Biome B3 Mist for hydration and glow
The Clear Skin Probiotic Moisturizer to keep my skin balanced
The Rosehip C+E Firming Oil for brightening and firming
I finish with cooling globes to de-puff, drain my sinuses, and relax facial tension before bed. It’s the ultimate act of self-care — and truly helps me wake up feeling refreshed and glowy.
